At FLAG, the educators can be described as multi-talented, dynamic and are not only well qualified but are also experienced in international teaching. They have attended various in-service training programmes and also teacher training workshops organized by the IBO and CIE.

Our class size will never exceed 20 students thus enabling the teacher to give individual attention and personalized training to every student in class.

Approaches to Learning

The question of "how best will we learn" is addressed by the pedagogy of guided inquiry. While appreciating that differing techniques can be chosen by individual teachers, all teachers in our school aspire to promote inquiry through the following strategies:

• active, hands-on learning
• conceptual learning that leads to understanding along with the acquisition of basic facts
• meaningful, relevant learning experiences
• interaction between students and teachers
• cooperative learning

Approaches are varied so that individual student's needs, abilities, interests, and learning styles are addressed. They include a variety of instructional materials and appropriate technology. The starting point is students current understanding. The goal is the active construction of meaning by building connections between direct experience and content knowledge. Time to reflect on the learning process is considered an essential part of learning.

Assessment & Reporting

To ensure that teaching is targeted at improving learning outcomes, a variety of assessment processes will be undertaken. These include both formative and summative assessment techniques.

Formative assessment includes teacher observations, student self assessments, individual Learning Plans and anecdotal note taking by teachers and is ongoing in nature.

Summative assessment takes the form of teacher devised tests, standardised tests, student projects, talks. These activities will be held at specific times throughout the year and are aimed at measuring what has been learnt.

Our reporting systems do way with an academic ranking and stress more on a student profile in the making. We want to ensure that students are not competing with each other or his peers but with himself/herself, to enable them to create wings that will help them fly high confidently in the academic sky.

Career Counsellor

FLAG has tied up with Madhavi Desai Consulting Pvt. Ltd which is India's first and leading education consulting firm founded in 1989.It is the first professional organization ever to set up a complete guidance cell for students who want to study abroad.

As on 2007 they have completed applications for a little over 18,000 students in the past 17 years and sent them to USA, UK, Canada and Australia for further studies.

We at FLAG are proud and fortunate to be associated with Madhavi Desai and her team. The students enrolling into the IB Diploma Programme at FLAG will able to take advantage of this service at no extra cost.

Student Workshops

We have on board a network of workshop leaders and guest speakers who will be conducting sessions on speed reading, math, sports, business studies etc.

Life Skills Program

In the real world no individual can work in isolation. FLAG aims to provide experiential learning programmes, where teacher facilitators will help students cultivate skills of leadership, co-operation, self- help, presentation, team work through real work situations
